PREDICTIONS BREAKING NEWS

A dire evening for Welsh football

First and formost congratulations to Sean Dwyer for correctly predicting that we would fail miserably to win our crucial under 21 match yesterday. Sam Vokes has been promissed estates in Buecharest for his glaring misses against Romania which could have seen Wales safely into the play off's.

One small rant, why when we win the ball back from a Georgian attack did we pass the ball around the back to allow the Georgians to get 10 men and a tank behind the ball before cautiosly gaining ground at the rate of the blind brigade in the Somme. And now a larger rant in the form of a quiz!

DKBA - Could you play and manage Wales?? Take the Quiz and find out!

Question 1: You are Craig Morgan, you have limited ability on the ball but a few options ahead of you as the Georgians are sitting back thinking of Gori.

Do you - A: Play the ball towards one of our creative players in front of you begging you for the ball such as Jason Koumas or Simon Davies?

B - Play the ball 5 yards to the side of you to Ashley Williams?

C - Hit a long ball far too far in front of Paul Parry, which the linesman will call for offside anyway?

Question 2: You are John Toshack, Wales manager, the game is coming to a standstill and its only the 60th minute?

Do you - A: Bring on Earnie and give him at least half an hour to make an impact on the game.

B - Take off one of your strikers and replace him with a player who last played for Wales back in the days when Lee B was legally allowed to watch football?

C - Bring on Leyton Orient superstar Glyn Garner.

Question 3: The game is over and you have lost to 18 Georgians they managed to get out of Baku on a fishing boat, what do you do next?

A - Make excuse after excuse about the availibility of players?

B - Play 5 at the back against Azerbaijan, despite not having 5 decent defenders and play Carl Fletcher and Carl Robinson together in midfield just to make sure we won't be scoring?

C - Be flexible and prove your managerial skills by finding a system that might present our strikers with some opportunities?

Answers

- If you answered mostly A you would make a dreadful Wales player/manager, the team would move up the pitch at speed now and again and thats frankly unnacceptable.

- If you answered mostly B great news - your in! Your preperation for the big game consists of watching the videos of Wales 0 - 0 Czech Republic and Wales 0 - 0 Paraguay and have the inspirational words "CONSOLIDATE, SIDEWAYS, TAKE THE DRAW" written on the changing room wall in latin.

- If you answered mostly C you think Sam Ricketts is good enough to play at international standard and was right never to get down the wing against vunerable Georgian full backs.

If all that has got you in the mood for some more Wales 'action' head to the DKWA-LES page for details of a possible away friendly.

Official Predictions Statement

Over the last few season's predictions has become more and more popular with the snowball effect of more people joining. We have reached out to people far and wide (from Whitchurch to Landough) and have all made a lot of new friends.

However I feel that the predictions movement has reached its peak and I have taken it as far as I can. I am there for stepping down from my position as Predictions Chairman.

After the last two or three competitions hardly anyone paid and I've ended up forking out of my own pocket a stupid sum of money to pay people the prize money. I no longer feel that I can justify doing this and also believe that people's hunger for predictions is no longer there.

If any of the younger members (Paul Carey's clan in particular) feel like they want to take over the reigns I'm more than happy to hand over a few templates and pass on a few tips.

It has been a fantastic few years of running the predictions league and cups and I would like to personally thank everyone who has taken part. There have been some great memories and some classic moments that will live with me forever.

Yours Faithfully

Phil

The FAW launched Wales brand new home kit this week and it will get it's first outing against Georgia.

Yet just a couple of month's ago the FAW launched two new Kappa shirts and they sold well by all accounts. Unlike other doomed Kappa shirts at least they were both aired over six matches.

Anyone who bought these shirts for £35 plus should be suitably miffed the FAW have now hopped into bed with JJB and Champion in time for the World Cup Qualifiers.

Personally I hate the new shirt and do wish the FAW would have made the effort to merchandise Kappa kit as well as they have done with this one.

Perhaps the FAW have hired some new staff because below is the advert you will see plastered over JJB's across Wales which has not happened in a while and low and behold there is now AN FAW MEGASTORE where shortly we will be able to buy the new kit and training range!

A dream come true at DKBA HQ but time will tell how long this FAW media success will last and whether the FAW are putting any effort in themselves or whether as I suspect they have simply given JJB free reign to sell the FAW brand.

Farcelona Strike Back But Cant Take The Points

FARCELONA still prop up the league but Monday’s performance restored pride to the DKBA's premier 5aside team.

Second in the league Cardiff Ultra’s were frustrated by Farcelona’s confident rear guard action, whilst lone hitman Phil Williams’s strikes kept the Farce in touch.

Eventually tired legs and brief lapses in concentration prevailed to hand the Ultra’s the points, but the table toppers were never comfortable until very late on when Farcelona’s desperate attempts to turn improvement into points left them open at the back.

Farcelona manager Monty, who came under pressure to quit following last week’s 14-0 annihilation to mid table opposition, was full of praise for his players.

“It was a different team that turned up compared to the last few weeks,” said Monty.

“The teams improvement was noticeable all over the pitch, passing, morale, attitude, team encouragement, talking, movement, as well as their ability to mark players, although there was  a couple of lapses which lead to a few goals.”

And Monty heralded last week’s in team debate as the reason for the vast improvement.

“Things needed to be said, I was biding my time for a little chat before the game, but Phil's message on facebook made sum valid points, although one or two questionable points, one of which was answered with a message on www.fcfarcelona.com , followed up by a short but to the point team talk before the game, which people did laugh at, but obviously it done some good,” he said.

However asked whether his team could beat the Galacticos if they met in a friendly encounter, the Galacticos could usurp the title of the DKBA’s best 5aside team with promotion, he dodged the question.

Yet signalled his intentions on going cap in hand to Galacticos manager Steven Jones to ask for the teams to play together, perhaps hoping his team could learn something?

“Unfortunately friendly’s count for nothing these days, unless we play them in a competitive league match what is the point?” said Monty.

“I expect discussion with the Galacticos manager to continue this summer over maybe a few summer training sessions as was previously discussed, and also may b the possibility of an 11 aside team forming using both sets of players.”

Although Monty was comfortable enough in affirming that FC Farcelona have won every encounter with their rivals, but both teams having changed greatly leaves his confidence in his teams supremacy a little impudent.
